Members of Croxley Green Fly Fishers have found their membership benefits then in several ways. Events such as fishing trips are organised in advance by a duly elected events officer or events assistant. All venues are first agreed by the membership and an events calendar published each season. Members simply have to pay a deposit and turn up on the day. By block-booking venues this way, costs are reduced for each member.

For members interested in friendly competitive fishing, matches are organised throughout the season with other clubs. This again reduces costs simply due to the numbers of fishermen attending. The cost-effectiveness of the club not only applies to fishing venues but also to other events. For example, members have a social evening during the Christmas period which is not only cost-effective, but most enjoyable. The same is true where fishing events also include lunch, sometimes subsidised by the club.

A more tangible benefit of being a member is the insurance. This covers risks such as personnel or third-party injury. By far the greatest benefit is meeting with like-minded friends to discuss all aspects of fly-fishing.
