Care of reels is simple. Strip off the line, dismantle the reel, and put all the
parts in methylated sprits to soak. When the parts are thoroughly clean, take them
to the tackle shop and see if the man can put them back together again.
Hooks
There are three basic hook shapes: round bend, crystal and model perfect. The round
bend has a bend which is round, so that worms don't feel too uncomfortable on it.
If there's anything a worm can't stand it's having a hang about, feeling cramped,
on a crystal.
The crystal starts as a round bend, then turns sharply upwards. There is doubtless
a good reason for this.
The model perfect is a patented design in which the point is offset at an angle.
This makes the hook more certain to penetrate a fish's lip or an angler's earhole.
